Purpose

This ministry coordinates special community projects for the church. The team researches and selects the monthly Do Unto Others (DUO) recipient and coordinates presentations and newsletter articles.

Mission

We reach beyond the walls of AGCMCC  reflecting our church's values to celebrate and strengthen our diverse communities. Sharing our gifts, we educate and support while affirming our GLBTQA identity. We do this by supporting a range of DUO recipients and by providing action opportunities for our congregation. We work collaboratively with other ministry teams supporting the overall mission of the church.

DUO Fund Recipients

Recipients reflect the diversity of the GLBTQ community. We use these guidelines in making selections:

  • 50-70% GLBTQ specific
  • 20-25% Nieghborhood
  • 10-25% Other
  • Organizations and programs where our gift will make a difference -- those with limited access to funding, in greater need of our gift.
  • Specific focus areas: underserved, underfunded or marginalized populations

        Advocacy
        HIV/AIDS
        Women
        People of Color
        Ability
        Bisexual
        Transgender
        Age: Seniors and Youth

Organizations must have a non-discrimination policy which includes sexual orientation/gender identity in order to receive DUO support.

DUO recipients should also compliment special themes the church may determine (i.e. 2009 Year of the Child)
